Caernarfon Town made history on Friday night with the biggest win in their Cymru Premier existence. A 9-1 demolition of Cambrian & Clydach at The Oval shattered their previous record league victory of 8-0, set 22 seasons ago against Barry Town United.
The result, witnessed by 1,010 supporters, lifts the club to third in the league on 22 points from 10 games. They now sit six points behind leaders The New Saints and have scored 33 goals this season, the highest tally in the division.
Nine different players scored for the Canaries, a remarkable feat of collective finishing. Zack Clarke opened the floodgates in the 22nd minute after Ashley Evans had given the visitors a shock 16th-minute lead. Paulo Mendes, Jake Canavan, and a Sion Bradley penalty made it 4-1 before the hour mark.
Adrian Cieslewicz, Ryan Sears, Noah Edwards, Matty Jones, and Offrande Zanzala completed the rout, with Zanzala's strike coming in the eighth minute of added time. The game saw two red cards: Caernarfon goalkeeper Connor Roberts was dismissed in the 35th minute, and Cambrian's Kyle Jones saw red for the foul that led to Bradley's penalty.
A landmark performance
The previous benchmark, an 8-0 win over Barry Town United in the 2003-04 campaign, has stood for over two decades. The scale of this victory underlines the team's potent attacking form, which has seen them net five goals away at Ammanford and five at Holywell in recent weeks.

Despite playing over half the game with ten men after Roberts' sending-off, Caernarfon's dominance was absolute. Joshua Beecher, who came on in goal for Cambrian after Jones' red card, could not prevent the onslaught. The result continues a strong run of form for Huw Griffiths' side, who are unbeaten in four of their last five matches.
With 22 points on the board, the focus now shifts to maintaining their push near the top of the table. Their next challenge is an away trip to face Airbus UK, who are currently eighth, on October 30. The full schedule for the coming weeks is available on our fixtures page.
